Lisa Vitry Golden City Councilor, District 1- About Me

I am a board-certified Medical Technologist with 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. I am a collaborative leader who has developed and led teams through process, technology and patient care changes with a sustained focus on the core values of compassion, integrity, service, and stewardship. I was elected to Golden City Council November 2023. I am the City Councilor for District 1. My term is 2024-2028. I was a member of the Citizen's Budget Advisory Committee. I am a graduate of Leadership Golden class of 2023.

Mocha, my chocolate lab, and I are a registered Pet Therapy Team and an Animal Assisted Crisis Response Team with Pet Partners. Mocha joined our family in August 2020, when she was 3 1/2 years old. She was untrained, had never worn a collar or walked on a leash, and had never experienced life beyond her home in the northern mountains of New York State. Her journey to become a Therapy Dog, during all the challenges in 2020-2021, is a tale of courage and joy. She is the therapy dog at West Woods Elementary School, Golden Pond Retirement Community, and Shelton Elementary School. We were the Pet Therapy team for the Marshall Fire Resource Center and Mocha has been recognized by FEMA and Pet Partners for her achievements. I serve on City Council because I have professional leadership experience developing new teams and relationships to drive thoughtful, data-informed, fiscally responsible decision making. I believe this experience is essential on council. Especially now. Golden has experienced leadership changes including Police Chief, Fire Chief, City Manager, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Golf, and City Attorney. I believe we have the right people in the right jobs at the right time, to continue to strive to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, sustainable, thriving city that supports our residents and local businesses.

I have been married to my amazing husband, Patrick, for 25 years. He is a Medical Technologist, like me, and is now a Director at Intuitive Surgical. Patrick is also a decorated Army Veteran, who, like me, loves the outdoors and serving the community. He has been a volunteer Park Patroller for Jefferson County Open Space for over 20 years. He now patrols the parks with his Bark Patroller partner, Mocha.
